I decided to download Blender 2.8 and create a modified 3D mask from the "Ghost of Tsushima" game to fit with my Tengu theme. A mix of Photoshop, Premiere, and After Effects were used to create the background animations

PROJECT: NEW 2.0 LAUNCH
In this project with immi (A fresh new organic ramen company based in LA), the co-owner, Kevin, wanted to incorporate his love of old-school hip-hop into the launch of their new 2.0 relaunch. The idea was that they "remixed the flavor" so the marketing should do the same.
I took inspiration from the Samurai Champloo anime intro animation and mixed it with graphic elements that would help it pop against their social media feed.

I noticed how they used contasting colors to create boxes for framing their HD photos so I did some exploration to present a few
"lead-up" designs for the 2.0 post
The strong yellow and black were a bit challenging to work with at first but I found that playing with scale, hierarchy, and contrast helped me expand on my options.

I wanted to create something that my friends at IRYOKU could use to boost engagement on their social media/web pages.
I took elements from their brand and redesigned them for the motion graphic. I wanted to keep the brand's "clean sharp" look so I was very selective to avoid visual clutter.

I wanted animate this circular logo building itself with smaller circles to give it a little "pop"
I liked the contrast between the thick and thin fonts.
So I also gave them their own distinct animations
The Retro-style neon lights were a big inspiration for the overall design / energy for the final animation

Design an animated logo with a "nightlife-street" vibe for social media/landing page.
The Client wanted an animated logo to HYPE their upcoming site. They are a great source to find out about the latest drops on exclusive footwear. Personally, I like how neat and organized their content is.
Recreated the logo in Illustrator. Animated in After Effects.
No fancy plugins just native AE tools.

This mantra aligns perfectly with their brand - Ready And Willing Collection - which is all about always being ready to advance yourself at any given moment.
PROJECT: EAT CHOCOPIE TOGETHER
EatChocopieTogether.com launched on 08.15.2020 as part of a collaborative project between Mina Cheon, The Asia Society, and The Korean American Community Foundation.
Their goal was to raise $5000 to help those who had been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic as well as raise awareness against anti-Asian racism.
Utilize the Chocopie design with traditional Korean Obansek to create an engaging promo ad for the Eat Chocopie campaign.
I was excited to get the chance to offer my animation and graphic design skills to help spread this message as my work focuses on building positive relationships between Black-American and Asian-American communities.
I utilized the Brilliant Chocopie designs by Mina Cheon and incorporated the 5 primary colors (Obangsaek "오방색") found in traditional Hanbok to bring a pop of color and celebrate Korean culture.
